Old Heritage walk / Food Tour
Day 01 – Delhi
After breakfasts meet our guide on the metro station then we will start our walking tour in the very narrow street of old Delhi. In old Delhi we will visit the Lal Mandir – very famous Jain temple in old Delhi. Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir (Śrī Digambar Jain Lāl Mandir) is the oldest and best-known Jain temple in Delhi, India. It is directly across from the Red Fort in the historical Chandni Chowk area. The temple is known for an avian veterinary hospital, called the Jain Birds Hospital, in a second building behind the main temple. Then we will visit the very famous and historical Gauri Shankar Temple. It's known for its 800 years old Lingam (phallus stone) put in a marble case of a female organ representation, covered by snakes made up of silver which represents the 'Cosmic Pillar' or the 'Centre of the Universe. Later we will visit the Gurdwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib. Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is one of the nine historical Gurdwaras in Delhi. It was first constructed in 1783 as a small shrine by Baghel Singh to commemorate the martyrdom site of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur and was probably expanded after Indian Rebellion of 1857 or after Partition of India. Before its construction the Mughal Kotwali (Police Station and Jail) was situated here. After the Indian Rebellion of 1857 the Mughal Kotwali was demolished by the British and the land was given to the Sikhs as the Maharaja of Patiala and other Sikh soldiers helped the British to defeat the Mughal soldiers by providing large numbers of ammunition and soldiers. After that ready to taste the delicious street food of old Delhi. In the last we will visit the Largest the Spice Market of Asia. After that our guide will drop you at the metro station.
